Trump calls for a new investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server

Republicans are accusing President Donald Trump of politicizing the FBI’s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her email server.

The White House on Wednesday released a statement in response to the FBI investigation.

In the statement, the White House said the president has asked FBI Director Christopher Wray to conduct a review of the FBI and its history of using the authority of its position to obtain criminal evidence.

The statement said Wray will have “complete authority” to conduct the review, and that “the president has made clear his expectation of the director to conduct such a review.”

Democrats have also called for a review.

On Wednesday, Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren that “it’s clear from this statement that the president’s goal is to politicize the FBI to the extent that it does not have to be an independent agency.

The FBI has never used its position as a law enforcement agency to obtain a criminal indictment, and it will continue to do so.”

This statement comes after the president said earlier this month that he is “100 percent” sure the emails were sent from his private email server and that the FBI is “going to do a full and thorough investigation.”

“I know the FBI will do its job, and I’m sure they will do it thoroughly,” he told reporters.

“I don’t know whether they will or they will not.

I think the FBI needs to do its work and do it right.

I don’t want to see a partisan effort to try to change the facts.”

Trump has said the investigation is ongoing and that he has asked Wray and other FBI officials to review the “full history of the Clinton investigation.”

The White Houses statement on the FBI probe came after Wray sent a letter to Congress on Wednesday saying the agency was “confident that the work of the Special Counsel is continuing, and we are reviewing our options to pursue our review.”

“We are grateful to the President for his continued leadership in this matter and appreciate the opportunity to provide this important information to you,” Wray wrote.

“The work of our law enforcement officers is essential to ensuring that all Americans are treated fairly under the law.

We look forward to reviewing the full facts of the matter and will do our utmost to comply with any and all laws.”
